Watchman mowed down along the Spanish Town Bypass
A 52-year-old St Catherine man died from injuries he received after he was hit by a motorcar along the Spanish Town Bypass on Sunday night, November 16, 2025.
He has been identified as Devon Reid, a night watchman of Duncans Pen Road in Spanish Town.
Reports are that about 10:52 p.m., Reid was walking along the roadway in the vicinity of the salt factory when he was struck by a 2007 Nissan Bluebird motorcar.
He sustained severe injuries and was taken to the Spanish Town Hospital where he later succumbed.
The 44-year-old driver of the vehicle has been warned for prosecution.
The St Catherine North Traffic Department is investigating.
